Advanced Management Program

The WHU Advanced Management Program (AMP) is a week-long transformational journey. The AMP is designed to challenge you as a senior leader! It provides an exciting opportunity for gaining new insights into strategy and global economic developments, and to progress in inspirational and authentic
leadership. The diversity of participants gives you the possibility to network beyond your own industry or sector and boost your personal network.

As an AMP participant you will embark on an expedition that tracks a course from tough lessons learned in the past through current strategy-innovation concepts, right up to them being challenged by the new generation. Generating an in-depth insight into your own leadership personality and conflict-resolution competencies will spark a true personal (r)evolution! Participants will engage in tailored learning interventions, including interactive classroom sessions, case studies, group reflection sessions, and peer-to-peer coaching – enabling you to develop the tools you need to excel and rise to a top executive position. By literally playing different roles that are suited to different times, you will playfully embed changes into your management style, ready to use on the next working day.

The WHU Advanced Management Program is about being challenged and challenging others, about progressive and inspirational leadership, and the drive to make an impact within organizations and a globalized economy.

This empowering 5-day program will begin with a focus on strategy from three different perspectives: a practical perspective fostering an exchange of the strategic challenges the participants themselves are facing in their organizations; a theoretical perspective bringing together new and agile methods for developing strategic initiative; and a globalized economic perspective taking into account global megatrends and their impact on organizations. Participants are encouraged to bring their individual strategic challenges into the classroom and discuss these with their peers and the program facilitators in a confidential and closed environment.

The second part of this exceptional learning journey will focus on inspirational leadership. Again, we will look at leadership challenges from different angles: What are the traits of an inspiring leader? How can I expand my inspirational leadership capabilities? How can I convey difficult messages? How can I prevent organizations from falling into the acceleration trap and avoid a decrease in employee motivation? And finally, how do emotions interact with leadership and how can I boost my emotional intelligence? Leadership classes are designed to challenge your view on leadership and your leadership style using a mixture of different methodological elements – interactive classroom sessions, peer-to-peer feedback, and individual and group reflections.

  • Challenge yourself and further hone your leadership style
  • Discover and discuss effective ways to implement change and respond to complex situations
  • Develop the tools needed to excel and rise to a top executive position
  • Gain a thorough insight into agile start-up strategizing
  • Become an inspirational leader acknowledging the power of emotions and avoiding the acceleration trap
  • Enhance your strategic impact
  • Drive superior performance for your organization
