Upon completion of the Venture Captital Seminar, you will gain a thorough understanding of:

  • The business model of venture capital

    • The twists and turns of the fundraising process
    • Key provisions in limited partner (LP) agreements
    • The influence of LPs on investment behavior
    • Fund incentive compensation structures

  • How (corporate) venture capital works at each stage of a venture’s life cycle:

    • Source deals, and select and develop investment theses
    • Structure financing and negotiate options
    • Work with founders to build effective teams, create scalable business models, configure dynamic organizational architectures, open new markets, and develop winning cultures
    • Develop exit strategies and learn how to implement them

  • How venture capital manages its portfolio of investments

    • Review and evaluate investment portfolios
    • Prioritize resource allocation, terminate investments
    • Dispose of portfolios

Over the course of the VC program, you will apply what you have learned, and practice your investment management skills in a wide range of WHU’s proprietary state-of the art VC simulation games. Whether you play individually or as part of the team, these games immerse you in the complex tasks of valuation, fund management, distribution of proceeds and others combined with the excitement of competition.

Fees:
