Professor Bolko von Oetinger

Honorary Professor at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management

Since 1998, Bolko von Oetinger has been lecturing Strategic Management at WHU, since 2004 as Honorary Professor. Through his engagement with the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt and with the Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics, he puts a strong emphasis on social responsibility with a focus on management responsibility, sustainability and social impact investments.

He was one of the co-founders of the Boston Consulting Group in Germany in 1974 and remained with the company until 2008 in various national and international management functions. In 1998, he founded the BCG Strategy Institute, which deals with the search for non-business sources of strategy. His consulting activities focused on strategy and organizational development and innovation processes. Bolko von Oetinger obtained his doctorate in political science on a topic of foreign policy under Professor Arnulf Baring at the Free University of Berlin and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
