Professor Martin Jacob
Chairholder of WHU’s Chair of Business Taxation at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management
The Chair of Business Taxation aims at deepening the understanding of the effects of taxation. The Chair‘s research and teaching relate to the three subjects economics, finance, and accounting. Prof. Dr. Martin Jacob is the Chairholder since 2013 and previously has been Assistant Professor for Taxation and Accounting at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He has been Visiting Scholar at Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA in 2012 and Visiting Scholar at Uppsala Center for Fiscal Studies at Uppsala University, Sweden in 2010.
He has won several Awards during his Academic and Professional career, i.e. the Young Talent Award, the German Academic Association for Business Research in 2014, and Best Teacher Award in 2012/2013 for the Lecture “Business Taxation” (BSc Program) in 2013. His Editorial Activities include Special Issue on Tax Research for the European Accounting Review and the Editorial Board for the Business Research. Furthermore, he has been a reviewer for many journals, including The Accounting Review, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Public Economics.
