WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management ("WHU" uses the technical platform and services of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook") for the information service offered here.

Please note that you use this Facebook page and its functions on your own responsibility. This applies in particular to the use of interactive functions (e. g. commenting, sharing, rating). Alternatively, you can also access the information provided on this page on our website at https://www.whu.edu/en.

The responsible body pursuant to Art. 4 para. 7 EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") are WHU and Facebook as jointly responsible pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR. You can find the contract on our joint responsibility under the following link: www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum. Facebook assumes primary responsibility according to the GDPR for the processing of Insights data and will fulfill all obligations according to the GDPR with regards to the processing of Insights data (including Art. 12 and 13 GDPR, Art. 15 to 22 GDPR "rights of data subjects" and Art. 32 to 34 GDPR "technical and organisational measures").

When you visit our Facebook page, Facebook collects your IP address and other information available on your computer as cookies. This information is used to provide us as the operator of the Facebook page with statistical information about the use of the Facebook page. Facebook provides more information on this here:
https://www.whu.edu/de-de.facebook.com/help/pages/insights

Legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lt. f GDPR ("legitimate interest").

The data collected about you in this context will be processed by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and, if necessary, transferred to countries outside the European Union. Facebook describes in the general terms which information they receive and how the data is used in the data usage guidelines. There you will also find information on how to contact Facebook and how to set up advertisements. The data usage guidelines are available at the following link: de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy

The complete data guidelines of Facebook can be found here: de-de.facebook.com/full_data_use_policy

The manner in which Facebook uses the data from visiting Facebook pages for its own purposes, the extent to which activities on the Facebook page are assigned to individual users, how long Facebook stores this data and whether data from a visit to the Facebook page is passed on to third parties is not conclusively and clearly stated by Facebook and is not known to us.

When you access a Facebook page, the IP address assigned to your device is transmitted to Facebook. According to Facebook, this IP address is made anonymous (for "German" IP addresses) and deleted after 90 days. Facebook also stores information about its users' end devices (e. g. as part of the "Login Notification" function); Facebook may thus be able to assign IP addresses to individual users.

If you are currently logged in to Facebook as a user, a cookie is placed on your device with your Facebook ID. This enables Facebook to understand that you visited this page and how you used it. This also applies to all other Facebook pages. Facebook buttons integrated into websites allow Facebook to record your visits to these websites and assign them to your Facebook profile. On the basis of this data, content or advertising can be offered tailored to you.

To avoid this, you should log out of Facebook or disable the "Stay signed in" feature, delete the cookies on your device and exit as well as restart your browser. This will delete the Facebook information that can immediately identify you. This allows you to use our Facebook page without revealing your Facebook account. When you access interactive features of the site (liking, commenting, sharing, etc. ), a Facebook login screen appears. Once you have logged in, Facebook will recognize you as a specific user again.

For information on how to manage or delete existing information about you, please visit the following Facebook support pages: de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy

We as provider of the information service do not collect and process any further data from your use of our service.

You will find this data protection declaration in the currently valid version under "Data protection" on our Facebook page.

If you have any questions regarding the processing of your personal data or if you have any questions regarding the aforementioned rights or suggestions, please contact us or our external data protection officer:
