Sustainability in Corporate Governance: Perspectives in the Supply Chain

The joint conference of Bucerius Law School (BLS) and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management will highlight linkages between legal and business aspects of sustainability in corporate governance, with a focus on the supply chain and the new Supply Chain Governance Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltsgesetz – LkSG).

The conference addresses academics as well as practitioners from companies, associations, law firms and administration in order to explore interdisciplinary points of contact.

The first two parts of the conference will be dedicated to the analysis of the current corporate obligations resulting from the Supply Chain Sourcing Obligations Act and the challenges in the implementation of the Act. In the third part, an outlook on future research fields will be given with a focus on supply alliances: The latter is first done using the example of supply alliances: Cooperation between competing logistics companies could possibly reduce emissions in the delivery of goods, especially in urban areas.

The concluding discussion will take up these topics and provide an outlook on future implementation strategies and political reform perspectives, especially at the European level.

This event is funded by the Interdisciplinary Program for Legal Research of Bucerius Law School and Noerr PartGmbB. Please note that the event will be held in German.
