Using Strategy Along with Digitalization Effectively

The Online Certified in Strategy & Digitalization Program is a virtual Executive Education Program, focusing on the areas of strategy and digitalization. This program introduces basic concepts and theories and will equip you with the necessary insights, skills, and tools to create outstanding strategies. Moreover, it presents an introduction to the topic of digitalization and will help participants to start their roadmap towards digital transformation. All online courses are pitched at the MBA level, which means that relevance and applicability to your job are at their core. You will benefit from innovative teaching methods and a virtual but collaborative learning experience. After successful completion of the program, you will be granted a WHU Online Executive Education Certificate and 10 ECTS credits, which can be credited to an MBA (16% of an MBA).

Program Content

This program gives you a comprehensive overview of strategy and digitalization at both company and competitive level and familiarizes you with the important functions within an enterprise.

Participants can choose four out of the six following online courses:

  • Strategic Management
  • Innovation in the Age of Digital Disruption
  • Organizational Behavior
  • Strategy Execution
  • Consumer-centric Growth & Omnichannel Strategies
  • Building, Pitching & Financing Startups

To receive a certification, you must participate in four courses and successfully pass each course’s examination. The certificate grants 10 ECTS credits (16% of an MBA).

  • Strategic Risk and Change Management

Consumer-centric Growth & Omnichannel Strategies

  • Understanding the challenges of the Digital Age and developing strategies for blending the physical and digital world
  • Generating Omnichannel Consumer Insights (e.g., big data)
  • Learn how to optimize Omnichannel Product and Category Management, Price Management, Cross-Media Communications, Relationship Management, Sales Channel Choices and Coordination, Omnichannel Fulfilment

Building, Pitching & Financing Startups

  • Learn how managers can create, develop, sustain, and lead innovative new businesses or initiatives
  • Understand the interface between a corporation and the innovation and the entrepreneurial ecosystems
  • Learn how to adopt an open systems perspective
  • Understand how to effectively tap into the external environment to initiate change, drive innovation, and build new growth platforms

Participant Profile

The Online Certified in Strategy & Digitalization Program is suitable for young and middle management talents from various industries with different educational backgrounds who are interested in a deep dive into the topic of strategy and digitalization. This program is the right fit for everyone interested in expanding their knowledge within a new field of expertise since there is no specific prior knowledge needed.

Admission requirements: To apply for this program, proof of a Bachelor or equivalent first degree is necessary. Furthermore, participants are expected to have a minimum of two years of professional experience. Please note that applications need to be handed in at least 6 weeks before the start of the first chosen module.

Program Format and Module Dates

The program consists of 4 courses. Each course requires, on average, 17 hours per week of self-paced learning and 1-2 hours of live-teaching sessions which take place on Saturdays with the opportunity to choose between two timeslots at 1:00 pm or 4:00 pm(CEST). All courses last 5 weeks and include a final examination.

At WHU, our program participants are names, not numbers, and we value a personal connection. Hence, during the application process, we would like to get to know you as an applicant in a personal interview that can be either on campus or virtual. You will also have the possibility to ask any questions you might have. The interview can take place before our after you apply online.
