Chair of Logistics and Services Management Kühne Foundation Endowed Chair at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management
Carl Marcus Wallenburg is Professor of Supply Chain Management and holds the Chair of Logistics and Services Management at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.
He studied Industrial Engineering and Management at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He received his doctorate degree and his post-doctorate degree (Habilitation) from WHU. Before rejoining WHU, Carl Marcus Wallenburg was chaired Professor of Logistics at Berlin Institute of Technology and a visiting scholar at the Ohio State University (USA).
He is the European Editor of the Journal of Business Logistics and serves as Co-Chair of the European Research Seminar on Logistics and SCM. He is on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Management Control and the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management and serves on the editorial reviewer board of Journal of Supply Chain Management.
He is a frequent speaker at conferences and company meetings and has published six books, more than ten management studies, including CSCMP’s Global Perspectives on Germany, a Boston Consulting Group Focus Report, an AT. Kearney report on Digitalization and over 100 articles. His work has appeared in European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Service Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, Logistics Research, Transportation Journal, etc.
Professor Wallenburg received the German Logistics Research Award 2004, the Best Reviewer Award of Journal of Supply Chain Management 2008 and five Emerald Outstanding Paper Awards from 2011 to 2016.
As of May 1, Professor Wallenburg took over the role of the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs.
